This is your state representative, Anthony DeLuca. First and foremost, I hope you are doing well in these unprecedented times. As we have all experienced this year, COVID-19 has significantly impacted all of us. As your representative, I am committed to directing you to resources that may be helpful to you as we all find a way to move forward, together.

Aqua Illinois has made me aware of financial support they are offering to eligible customers, and as my constituents, I am passing this information along to you. If you are experiencing financial hardship, Aqua has set funds aside and is offering grants and expanded payment flexibility for eligible customers.

Requesting assistance is simple – just call Aqua at 877.987.2782 and tell them how you have been financially impacted by COVID-19. A phone call is all it takes, and their customer service team will be ready to help determine if you qualify.

I have seen the strength and perseverance of the University Park community, and I am confident that we will get through this by supporting each other and coming together as one, as you do so well.

While we continue working toward brighter days ahead, if you are facing a financial hardship, I encourage you to take advantage of resources like these whenever possible.

Again, you can call Aqua’s customer service team today at 877.987.2782 to learn more about your options.

Thank you and please take care.

Sincerely,

Rep. Anthony DeLuca

We hope this message finds you safe and well. This week via mail, we sent all bill-paying customers in the University Park water system a packet of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency-mandated public education materials from Aqua Illinois. Though overall water quality in University Park has improved and hundreds of homes have been removed from the advisory, these documents will notify you that, based on tap water samples, lead levels in certain University Park homes still exceed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s threshold for lead in drinking water. We are continuing to work toward the solution in collaboration with national experts and regulators while providing resources and information to help you protect your household from potential lead exposure. We are sending this information to all customers in the University Park water system, even if you are no longer under the advisory. A copy of this public education packet is posted on WaterFactsIL.com. If you have any questions about these materials, your home’s advisory status, or how to consume your tap water, call Aqua’s customer service team at 877.987.2782. As always, we thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
