Keeping you informed remains a top priority. We are reaching out to let you know that as of Nov. 1, 2021, Aqua Illinois resumed standard winter sewer billing procedures for customers statewide, including University Park customers in the advisory area. This means sewer bills for November through April are calculated based on each customer’s individual water usage until they are capped again for the summer months beginning in May.

To minimize impacts on sewer billing while we temporarily encouraged more tap water use to help our treatment effectively move through the system, we previously capped sewer bills for advisory area customers in University Park into the winter months. While regulators note it is always a best practice in any water system to let water run for two to three minutes before use if it has not been used for several hours, Aqua Illinois has seen significant progress in the community and is no longer – and has not been for some time – asking customers to run their tap water for extended periods of time.

At this time, Aqua Illinois continues to waive water bills for advisory area customers and evaluate water billing on a monthly basis. You can continue to rely on us for information and updates, and we encourage you to visit or give us a call at 877.987.2782 with any questions.
